Once the swap exists you get a separate funding window, shown on your swap page, to send the GMX. If your deposit arrives after that window closes, the status page shows Expired and the swap moves to Review required; it is then completed at the current rate or refunded to your refund address. Nothing is lost by being late — a late deposit just needs review before it is processed.
