What happens if my XTZ deposit is late or the swap expires?

There are two separate deadlines. The quote itself is held for 90 seconds — that is how long you have to accept the price and create the swap. Once the swap exists you get a separate funding window, shown on your swap page, to send the XTZ. If your deposit arrives after that window closes, the status page shows Expired and the swap moves to Review required; it is then completed at the current rate or refunded to your refund address. Nothing is lost by being late — a late deposit just needs review before it is processed.

Is exchanging XTZ for ZEC private?

Your XTZ deposit is visible on the Tezos ledger like any XTZ transaction. Give a unified (u1…) address and the Zcash payout enters the shielded pool, where its amount and destination are encrypted on-chain. We store only what a swap needs — amounts, transaction ids and the address you gave.
